2GuysTalkingStarWars: The Rogue One (2016) Perspective Review

STAR WARS might have begun long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away, but the franchise, the zeal and FANDOM of Star Wars Fans around the world thrives. With new standalone movies, the next “three Episodes” arriving, and more drama on and off screen – well – the STAR WARS Experience is alive and well. In 1977, we reveled in the release of STAR WARS, the tale of a young boy who finally was inspired to become a man, to find his place in the galaxy and to bring balance to the universe.  But before even that began – there was another tale. Another story, that started with the concept of “the plans for the weapon” that we’ve all been thinking about now for almost 40 years. As the 40th Anniversary of STAR WARS arrives, it’s time for an entirely overdue focus for 2GuysTalking: Grab your Death Stormtrooper Armor, stow away YOUR Kyber Crystals, and join us as we join Jyn Urso, a rag tag bunch of rebels and STAR WARS FANDOM for The Perspective Review of Rogue One here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network!

Star Trek (2009) – A Perspective Review

On September 8, 1966, the world was introduced to the world of phasers, photon torpedoes, the United Federation of Planets, and the captaincy of one James Tiberius Kirk. Since then, Star Trek has not only become one of the most popular properties worldwide, but has become a piece of language lexicon, cinema history and for many – a veritable way of life. In 2009, Hollywood beamed a new, younger cast into pieces of the original Star Trek universe to build an all-new series of chronicles on the silver screen that truly do pay homage to the original series, but stand boldly on their own. Set phasers for STUNNING, as you lock down the inertial dampeners so as to not be knocked from your seatbelt-less chair as we engage the warp drive during this Perspective Review of STAR TREK (2009), directed by J.J. Abrams. Remember to open hailing frequencies and be sure to tell us what you think!

Twister (1996) – A Perspective Review

Tornadoes: We’ll likely never experience on in real life and for that, we can consider ourselves lucky. In 1996, masses across North America were given, Twister, directed by Jon De Bon, starting a cavalcade of Hollywood’s brightest, up and coming actors who have all had literal windfalls since back then. What was also given to us was a portal into the “inside of a storm”, the action around it, and the details that just might help YOU if the skies go green, ice rains from the sky and everyone loses their minds as the whine of tornado sirens pierce the skies. When all others around you are losing their minds, we hope that you’ll remember the details, information and weather GEEKERY that is captured inside THIS podcast, the Perspective Review of Twister, 1993 directed by Jon De Bon. Spider-Man: A Perspective Review Series

He’s one of the most beloved characters in comics. Since 1963, we’ve loved Spider-Man. Whether it be because he’s “just like us with ordinary personal and familial problems, or just because he can stick to walls and spin webs, ol’ webhead makes us all weak in the knees when it comes to nostalgia.

Another feature film iteration arrives, this time, courtesy of the juggernaut (ha) Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) which offers a familiar but clearly different flavor for all movie-goers – fanboys or not. The fact is though – this is not your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s first rodeo. There have been other iterations that provide LOTS of perspective, value and laughs that The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network has been proud to collect, showcase and share with audiences worldwide.   Below are the links to all of our programs available as well as links to ones we haven’t ye– well – that we have no real interest to get to. Are YOU a fan of the Perspective Reviews we’ve missed so far? Be sure to tell us all about what you think, and with your interest, we’ll consider putting the rest of the Spider-Man cinematic rabble into the Perspective Review crosshairs. The Transformers Perspective Review Series

We can all remember the days of television-based leader called “Optimus Prime”. The unmitigated fear instilled by the vocal tones of a transforming pistol called ‘Megatron”. There was a lot to love back in the early 80’s when The Transformers weren’t only on screens worldwide, but in our toy boxes, imaginations, sketchbooks and more. Michael Bay made millions of grown-up geek dreamers wake up to a world where there ARE “giant transforming robots”, saving human lives, the Earth and thereby the universe. Did they succeed? Did they suck? It’s an AWESOME adventure, that 2GuysTalking is proud to welcome you on as you take a trip from the original animated Transformers film, into the silver-screen-based, effects extravaganzas that we know you saw. Another feature film is on the way and one thing is clear: Autobot and Decepticon fans – TRANSFORM – and Roll Out as you listen to The Transformers Perspective Review Series on The 2GuysTlaking Podcast Network.

Independence Day (1996) – A Perspective Review

Have aliens visited Earth? This question has always been an intriguing one. From the first “contact” we may have had in 1947, the the various incidents reporting inside of The Air Force’s “Project Blue Book” to any one of hundreds of documentaries you can find streaming online today – the question “have we been visited” is alive and well. In 1996, Hollywood, and the makers of “STARGATE” gave us a very special feature film that allowed us to dig even further into that question.

It was called “Independence Day” and it was glorious. From the bursting-at-the-seams casting to the ground-breaking and still delightful special effects to impeccably placed humor, we haven’t really been given something as special as Independence Day in a long time. It’s time for you to check out what 2GuysTalking thought of a truly “close encounter” that all of us had, and still remember here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network as we dig into The Perspective Review of “Independence Day, 1996, directed by Roland Emmerich.

Mystic River (2003) – A Perspective Review

The Law. The city of Boston. Crime, and the process of solving it. The value of a Perspective Review via 2GuysTalking, is being able to examine a movie, long after it’s been done at the theater and even after home availability on DVD and Blu-ray as well as electronic downloads arrive and disappear. Tonite, the 2GuysTalking Podcast plows through a literal trifecta, where a new podcast launches, another Perspective Review is established, and a new mini-series gets a wondrous watery start. It’s time for The Perspective Review of Mystic River, (2003), directed by Clint Eastwood, here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Perspective Review Series

The Pirates of the Caribbean was a noble endeavor when it began – an effort to bring the world and realm of the famed Disney ride to cinematic life. In it, they paired Johnny Depp, cutting-edge special effects, and an interest in stoking the flames of movie-goers zeal for on-screen piracy, drunken captains and scenic vistas and slurred sentences. Did they succeed? They did, on all accounts. As the series progressed, were they able to keep the lust for gorgeous women, haunting imagery, and an always-ready-nose to seek out the next step of one Captain Jack Sparrow? Be sure to listen to the entire series of our Pirates of the Caribbean Perspective Reviews, and perhaps – if the winds are right and the moonlit strikes the right cord (and the feedback submission box grows to capacity), we’ll complete our series of Pirates-based Perspective Reviews far’ ya’, Arrrrr!
