Measuring the Media – How Do We Do It?

The media continues to grow, as do the varying opinions from both sides, those that follow each side and the people that debate it all. What if we could “measure” what media outlets were offering and then put the contents into a system that gauges their validity? Are you ready to measure the media? How would we go about it if it happened? Check out what host Wade B. Olson thinks as you learn all about it inside this episode of WadeSense…

Let Your Nose Be the Guide – Controlling Smells and Other Airborne Stuff

Click Here to Play This Episode of The Green Gab Podcast Now!

Something that smells bad is your first key that it probably is bad, yet airborne stuff that is harmful to your health doesn’t always smell bad. Controlling the stuff that causes problems, or pollutant source control, is key to controlling the air flow and air quality in your home. Many odors, such as the smell of paint drying, comes from what is known as off-gassing or the slow release of volatile organic chemicals or VOCs. Per the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), many VOCs are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors.” Awareness of this issue is important as the impact of VOCs is vital to those who suffer from allergies, COPD, asthma and any kind of upper respiratory issues.

Homeowners also need to become aware of the pollutants, allergens, and dust that come into the home from the outside as well. Sealing the envelope of a structure is the process of controlling the interior climate and atmosphere from unwanted outside influences. An alternative to traditional sealants such high VOC spray foams and caulking is a Green Guard certified product called AeroBarrier, an air sealing technique which works to seal minuscule
leaks in your home using a blower door that pressurizes the house and a computer that controls the level of tightness or seal.

The important thing to remember is that we now have low or no VOC choices that can put us back on track to having a healthier more sustainable home environment.
